Licensed massage therapist, Reiki Master, and a lifelong student of how the body actually works. Here is how I got here.
I started college early, earning my Associate of Science from Utah Valley University at the same time I finished high school at the Utah County Academy of Sciences, where I was also a member of the National Honor Society. Both at once. Even then, I knew I wanted to work with the body. I just did not yet know in what form.
So I kept going, studying exercise science at UVU on my way toward physical therapy. I loved understanding how the body moves, compensates, and recovers. But in 2016 I paused to think honestly about what I wanted the work to feel like, day to day, for the rest of my life. In January 2017 I started massage school, and by January 2018 I had finished and knew I had found it. Massage was not a step down from physical therapy. It was the thing itself.
I have been practicing ever since, and I have never stopped studying, because a body is never finished teaching you. Alongside the hands-on work, I trained in Reiki and energy healing, earning my Reiki Master certification and, more recently, my Reiki Master Teacher certification. Together they let me work with the whole picture: the muscle and fascia you can feel, and the nervous system underneath that decides whether any of it can let go.
Massage therapy is a skilled health practice, and I hold it to that standard. Here is the training that shapes what happens on my table.
"I took the long way to this work. Every step of it taught me something the body would later ask me to know."
I would not trade a single detour.
